History & milestones
AIC's history reflects growth from coatings manufacturing into a wider specialty chemical portfolio.
Fifty years
Five decades separate the coatings workshop of 1975 from the manufacturing complex, R&D laboratory, and three operating divisions of today. The path ran through a widening product portfolio, sustained investment in imported production machinery, and a steady tightening of what customers expect a chemical supplier to be able to document.
The timeline below is written in eras rather than year-by-year entries. Only the founding year and the 2025 ZDHC certificates are dated; the rest is dated no more precisely than the records support.
Advance International Chemicals (Private) Limited was established in 1975 as a coatings manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers.
Demand from sports goods, textile, leather, and general industrial customers pulled the company beyond coatings into screen printing inks, resins, colours, adhesives, and printing chemicals and auxiliaries.
Investment in imported dispersion, milling, and mixing machinery — attritors, sand, ball, bead, and basket mills, and high-speed mixers — alongside an integrated R&D laboratory put production on a controlled, repeatable footing, with in-process grind checks so each batch matches the last.
The business organised into three divisions: chemical manufacturing under the MANSON brand; international trading and indenting across relationships with 100+ global chemical suppliers; and petroleum distribution and industrial fuel supply through subsidiary Best Petroleum Limited.
ZDHC MRSL Version 3.1 — Level 1 Conformance was achieved for 16 OPP SK grades plus Advance Adhesive-TEX, Manson GL 02 Black, Manson UI RED 06 FX, OPP AS HARDENER and AIC Retarder, each covered by its own Certificate of Conformance or SGS test report. The scope is grade-level: products outside that list carry no ZDHC claim.
Quality management across group manufacturing runs on ISO-aligned systems. ISO certification is in process; AIC holds no ISO certificate today.
AIC continues improving how customers explore products, applications, and support resources — catalogue search by industry, substrate, and application, with technical documentation available to qualified customers.
